what is Factory Licence ?
A factory license is a mandatory requirement for any business that engages in manufacturing or processing activities in India. It is issued by the respective State Pollution Control Board under the provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. This license is granted after a thorough inspection of the premises to ensure that the factory adheres to the necessary environmental and safety standards .
Eligibility :
The following conditions must be met :
- a) The factory must be located in a designated industrial area, as per the respective State Government’s regulations.
- b) The factory should not be located in a residential or commercial area.
- c) The factory should adhere to the prescribed environmental and safety standards.
- d) The factory should have a proper waste disposal mechanism in place.
- e) The factory should have a valid PAN card and GST registration.
Documents Required :
The following documents are required :
- a) Application form duly filled and signed by the owner or authorized signatory.
- b) Proof of ownership or lease agreement of the premises where the factory is located.
- c) Detailed site plan and layout of the factory premises.
- d) NOC from the local municipal authority or the concerned department.
- e) Consent to establish from the respective State Pollution Control Board.
- f) Consent to operate from the respective State Pollution Control Board.
- g) Proof of payment of the prescribed fees.
