Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) is a tax collection mechanism used in India, where a certain percentage of tax is deducted at the time of making payments for specific types of transactions. The responsibility of collecting TDS is with the person making the payment. TDS registration is the process by which a person can become a TDS collector and start collecting tax on behalf of the Government.

Requirements:

1. Permanent Account Number (PAN)
2. Valid Email ID and Mobile Number
3. Valid bank account in their name.

Procedure for Registration:

File the ‘TAN Application (Form 49B)’ with the required details, such as name, address, PAN, and contact information with a processing fee for the company INR 500, while for other applicants, it is INR 200, online using a credit or debit card. Once the Income Tax Department receives the acknowledgment, they will verify the details and issue a TAN number. The TAN number will be sent to the applicant’s registered email ID.
